ITD GmbH is a medium-sized company that is a world-leading manufacturer of carts and support arms for medical equipment and instruments. At the site in Pfarrkirchen, Bavaria, a new factory is currently under construction. The new building includes 1,800 m² of Kielsteg roof. The elements are able to span wide areas without supports. At the same time, the complete load-bearing roof construction in this case is less than one meter high – about half the height of conventional roof systems. Also, the elements use less raw material than normal glued beams. In this new building, Kielsteg elements are being used to cover a span of 19 m.
