Modern, welcoming and spacious: after around a year of construction, the newly built EUROSPAR in Güssing is opening its doors, covering an area of 1,200 m². In addition to its architectural design, Spar has prioritised sustainability through an autonomous energy supply for the building’s operations and in the choice of building materials. In addition to its architectural standards, Spar is committed to sustainability through self-sufficient energy supply for the building’s operations and in its choice of building materials. The newly built EUROSPAR strengthens local supply in the region and creates a modern retail structure that will benefit the region’s residents in the long term.
The KIELSTEG structure, covering an area of approximately 1,000 m², forms the majority of the building’s roof. With a height of 28 cm and a length of 21 m, the elements span 11.1 m and 9.4 m as a continuous-span system. The performance of the KIELSTEG elements proves its worth in buildings that require unobstructed usability of the space! The slender structure (l/h 41) with a closed and flat underside ensures a favourable ratio between the total building height and the clear room height.
The KIELSTEG roof surface supports the PV system. The supermarket is a pioneer in terms of environmental standards: with the PV system on the roof, LED lighting, modern heating and cooling technology with heat recovery, particularly efficient operation is guaranteed. The wooden roof structure with a low carbon footprint also contributes to the building’s efficiency through its performance.
